Clinton Campaigns For Markey in Worcester

Former president joined the current president in supporting the Democratic Senate nominee last week.

 

National Democrats are pulling out all the stops to ensure the election of their candidate, U.S. Rep. Edward Markey of Malden, in the June 25 special Senate election.

Last week President Barack Obama campaigned for Markey in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. On Saturday, former President Bill Clinton came out to Worcester to add his support, according to 7News.

"I want somebody who wants Americans to work, and Ed Markey does," Clinton said, according to the news station.

Markey's rival, Cohasset businessman and former U.S. Navy SEAL Gabriel Gomez, also held campaign events Saturday, including a town hall meeting in Southbridge, according to 7News.
