The first Boston baby of 2013 was born almost ten minutes into the new year.
Mother Sophanie Sejour of Haiti gave birth to a healthy baby girl at 12:09 a.m. at Massachusetts General Hospital.
The hospital said both mom and baby were doing well. The mother hadn't yet decided on a name.
