Five Things: The Esplanade Association is Hiring

And more to know today, March 5.

1. The Esplanade Association is hiring! TEA is looking for a horticulturist and seasonal horticulturist to restore and enhance the park. See their employment page for full job descriptions.

2. Your turn: Street sweeping is scheduled to start on Beacon Hill on March 11 as part of an expanded yearly program that includes March and December. What do you think of this? Is it a good thing for the Hill, or would you prefer not to have to move your car as much? One resident wrote, "It'll certainly be worth it in terms of not having to walk round and see all the trash everywhere." Do you agree? Let us know here

3. Walk for Charity: To register for the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on Sept. 8, or to support a walker, visit JimmyFundWalk.org or call (866) 531-9255. Participants enter the discount code BOSTON for $5 off the registration fee.

4. Civil Service: Apply to be in the Massachusetts Civil Service Unit.

5. Weather: Look forward to a high of 43 degrees under partly cloudy skies. The skies will continue to grow cloudier toward the evening.
