Five Things to Know Today, Jan. 27
Beacon Hill's annual dance this weekend; the future of Charles Street; Valentine's Day dinner on the Hill; increase your blog's audience; and another unseasonably warm day.
1. The Beacon Hill Civic Association's annual formal dance is this Saturday at the Four Seasons Hotel. The Perry Rossi Orchestra will play and Tracey Weiss from Ruby Door has donated a necklace to be raffled (purchase tickets on the BHCA website or at the event for a chance to win...$10/ticket, 3 tickets for $25). Susan Symonds of Infinity Portrait Design will be photographing the night. If you haven't bought your tickets, call the civic association at 617-227-1922.
2. A number of issues concerning the future of Charles Street surfaced at the Joint Charles Street Committee meeting this week, including the increase in banks on the street, DeLuca's Market and beautification projects. Read the full story here.
3. Looking for a romantic spot on the Hill to spend Valentine's Day? The Beacon Hill Hotel and Bistro is offfering a four course, prix fixe dinner for $68 per person(beverages not included). Call 617-723-7575 for reservations.
4. Do you live on Beacon Hill, have a blog and want a wider audience? Consider cross-posting the exact same blog you already write to Beacon Hill Patch. If you're interested, send an email to beaconhill@patch.com.
5. And our misplaced spring continues. Weather.com predicts that temperatures today will hit 52(!) under rainy skies. The precipitation should end and the clouds should break up around evening rush hour, but the wind will likely be significant all day.
