Five Things to Know Today, Nov. 23
Decorating Days on Beacon Hill; BHCA offices closed Thursday and Friday; Macy's holiday tree lighting; the police's most wanted; and lots of rain.
1. You can help decorate Beacon Hill during Decorating Days, Dec. 3 and/or 4. The Beacon Hill Civic Association is looking for volunteers. Saturday volunteers can meet for all or part of the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Harrison Gray Otis House, at 141 Cambridge St.; and Sunday volunteers should meet from noon to 5 p.m. at 160 Charles St., next to Savenor's. There will be a wrap-up party at 5 p.m. Sunday for everyone who volunteered.
2. The Beacon Hill Civic Association's offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
3. Black Friday will light up at noon with the Macy’s Holiday Tree Lighting on top of the department store's marquee at the Downtown Crossing location. The lighting will be accompanied by are entertained by singers, dancers, orchestras, choirs and celebrities.
4. Have you seen any of these people? The Boston Police Department released mugshots of its most wanted men... apparently for just this week. Take a look and remember, your tips are 100 percent anonymous.
5. It's going to be a rainy one. Heavy showers expected this morning and lasting into the afternoon with wind gusts around 15 to 20 mph. Temps in the lower 50s getting cooler as the day goes on.
