More than two years after a fire destroyed DeLuca's Market and its downstairs wine cellar, the basement shop reopened. 

The wine shop's first day back in business was Sept. 10. The rebuilt store features a new area for wine tastings, which they will hold Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 4 to 8 p.m.

The store will be open seven days a week from noon to 8 p.m. 

Meanwhile, owner Virgil Aiello says his upstairs store, DeLuca's Market at 11 Charles St., will reopen in "six to eight weeks." DeLuca's has been rebuilding since July 8, 2010, when an electrical fire that began underneath the market's main entrance destroyed the store.  

The date of DeLuca's reopening has been in question for the past two years. Aiello told Beacon Hill Patch in March 2011 that he hoped to open by the end of summer 2011. In December 2011, he went before the Beacon Hill Civic Association's Zoning and Licensing Committee to get their support for his plan to open a cafe at DeLuca's Market. But the committee voted not to support the proposal until it heard all the details.
