Police: Man Who Offered Shelter During Storm Got Laptop Stolen

Police news from Beacon Hill, Feb. 5 to 11.

 

A man who offered shelter to a stranger during the blizzard found his generosity unrewarded. According to police reports, on Feb. 8 a Joy Street man encountered a stranger at 7-Eleven on Park Street and felt bad the man had nowhere to stay during the snowstorm, so let the stranger stay with him. When he awoke the next day, he not only found that the man was gone, his laptop was missing as well.

  • Police responded to Grove Street for a report of a motor vehicle leaving the scene of an accident that caused property damage.
  • Police responded to Beacon Street for a report of larceny from a motor vehicle, under $50. 

Wednesday, Feb. 6

  • Police responded to 53 Beacon St. for a report of a motor vehicle leaving the scene of an accident that caused property damage.
  • Police responded to Charles Street for a report of larceny from a motor vehicle, $200 or more. 

Thursday, Feb. 7

  • Police responded to Phillips Street for a report of a motor vehicle leaving the scene of an accident that caused property damage.

Friday, Feb. 8

  • No major incidents reported.

Saturday, Feb. 9

  • Police responded to Joy Street for a report of larceny in a building, $200 or more (see above).

Sunday, Feb. 10

  • No major incidents reported.

Monday, Feb. 11

  • Police responded to Beacon Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident.
