Police: Thieves Snatch Valuables from Restaurant Tables

Monday, Aug. 6

  • At 12:35 p.m. and at 1:24 p.m. police responded to 100 Cambridge St. for a report of larceny by shoplifting, both under $50.

  • A woman reported to police that at 6:30 p.m. her bag, which contained several thousands of dollar worth of jewelry and other items, was stolen as she briefly left her table at a Charles Street restaurant. 

Wednesday, Aug. 8

  • At 7:05 a.m. police responded to 11 Beacon St. for a report of threats to do bodily harm.
  • At 9:10 p.m. police responded to 65 Beacon St. for a report of larceny in a building, $200 and over. According to police reports, a man struck up a conversation with a woman seated at a table in Startbucks then snatched her cell phone that was lying on the table and ran toward the Common.
