Protestors Make Brief Appearance in Louisburg Square

Occupy Boston demonstrators peacefully assemble on Beacon Hill.

A group of about 30 people assembled at Louisburg Square, at Pinckney Street, Saturday afternoon to call for "the creation of jobs, reforming the tax system, social security benefits and the end of the war," according to police reports.

The protest was orderly, police said, and lasted about 45 minutes before dispersing without incident around 4:50 p.m.

Sen. John Kerry lives at the corner of Louisburg Square and Pinckney Street.

As these protestors walked up Myrtle Street they were chanting abouit Senator Kerry in such a way as to give the impression that they were against him. When I walked to Louisburg Square I asked them if they had something against him and they said they were for him, but that they wanted him to know their wishes. It's too bad that all over the Hill people (including me) got a wrong impression of Senator Kerry. I told one of the demonstrators that they had a lot to learn about organizing a demonstration.

Very interesting comment, Jan. Thanks for the information! What were they chanting?

They were chanting "John Kerry Is Scary, When He doesn't represent us!"
About an hour later I had to walk down to Charles St, so passed Kerry's Home on the way and there they all were. That's when I spoke to them.
