This past Thursday, May 17th, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF launched the 2012 Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign and introduced TeachUNICEF at the Advent School on Beacon Hill. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF’s event, “Engaging Kids, Schools and Communities” brought together parents, teachers, religious organizations and non-profits to unite around children and foster global citizenship. There has been substantial progress: the annual number of under-five deaths dropped from more than 12 million in 1990 to 7.6 million in 2010.
