One Fund Boston Claim Forms Available Until June 15

Payments to victims will be made starting June 30.

Victims of the Boston Marathon bombings can file claims starting today through June 15, to possibly receive One Fund Boston assistance. Funds will start being distributed by June 30. One Fund Boston administrator Kenneth Feinberg released the final distribution protocol on Wednesday, which outlines how initial funds raised will be handed out, according to a City of Boston press statement.  The protocol for claims and claim forms are available at One Fund Boston's website. Claim forms are also being mailed to potential claimants who registered through One Fund's website.  “The outpouring of support for The One Fund has been unprecedented in my experience,” said Feinberg via statement. “We remain committed to channeling that generosity to …

Dunkin’ Donuts Customers Raise $467K for One Fund Boston

Through customer donations, and a company donation, Dunkin' Donuts has donated more than $667K to One Fund Boston.

Dunkin' Donuts customers across New England donated more than $467,000 to the One Fund Boston. While getting their cup of joe or donuts, customers deposited money at registers at more than 2,000 Dunkin' Donuts franchises in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York and Maine, according to the Dunkin' Donuts' website. "I am so grateful to our franchisees, employees and guests who came together to support The One Fund Boston," wrote Nigel Travis, CEO of Dunkin' Donuts. "In addition, Dunkin’ Brands and The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation together donated an additional $200,000 to the The One Fund Boston." New Push For August Meals Tax Holiday

The state's Restaurant and Business Alliance said there was "no sign of opposition" at a hearing this week.

The Joint Committee on Revenue in the Massachusetts legislature held a hearing this week on the notion of a potential meals tax holiday for August and one supporting group liking its chances. According to the state's Restaurant and Business Alliance (R.A.B.A), the hearing held Tuesday for the Meals Tax Holiday Bill saw "no sign of opposition" to the measure. Twelve legislators have signed on to the bill primarily sponsored by Rep. Keiko Orrall of Lakeville and Sen. Michael O. Moore of Millbury. If passed, the legislation would go into effect from Sunday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 15. "We should offer a Meals Tax Holiday to benefit employees and small local business owners inside Massachusetts to help stimulate the economy," said Dave …

'Boston Bites Back,' Fundraiser for One Fund at Fenway Park

Nearly 100 chefs will be cooking up a special benefit at Fenway Park on May 15 to benefit The One Fund.

The Fenway neighborhood will play host to a large-scale fundraising event for the One Fund next week, known as Boston Bites Back.   Nearly 100 of Boston's top chefs will be coming together to present a special culinary tasting event at Fenway Park on May 15 in order to raise $1 million for The One Fund.   The event is spearheaded by celeb chefs Ken Oringer and Ming Tsai, the Boston Red Sox, Governor Patrick, Mayor Menino, and ARAMARK. The idea is to bring Bostonians together to eat, drink and demonstrate Boston’s unrelenting spirit, while raising money for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, according to organizers. “BBB is an opportunity for the city to join as one and acknowledge our strength as a community,” said Ken Oringer, …
