Meet Tom Hanks! Nope, not the actor - a 7-month-old neutered male pit bull dog mix that is sweet and handsome as can be! Mr. Hanks was brought to the Animal Rescue League of Boston due to a living situation that prevented having pets in the home. He is still a puppy with boundless energy, so he needs lots of exercise and obedience training. Because of his rambunctious behavior he would do best in a home experienced with dogs, especially in puppy raising. Tom is very handsome and has the brains to go a long with it. He’s eager to please and will do anything for a treat.

Meet Simba, a 2-year-old neutered male boxer. Simba loves to spend time with his human friends here at the shelter. He also enjoys bringing his favorite stuffed animals on walks with him. Simba has been described as the dog that is the "most fun to play with at the shelter." He loves to catch toys and he is a good running partner. One of his favorite things to do is to snuggle on a lap after a nice walk and take a snooze. Simba doesn't like other dogs so he needs to be in a home where he is the only dog. We also don't recommend him to be with cats and small animals since we have observed …

Meet Kirby, a 5-year-old neutered male basset hound mix of 36 pounds. His owner was very sad to bring him to us as he said they were very bonded. He is young so he still needs to be taught good manners and would require some training once he goes to …

Meet Mr. Brown, a 7-year-old hound mix. He’s a sweetheart who loves all people but would prefer to be the only pet in the home so he can soak up all of the attention and affection. He goes out to our dog playgroup with the calm, larger dogs in the shelter and does well. He would love a home where his family can bring him on long walks then cozy up and settle in for a long nap next to the …
Meet Bella, a 5-year-old yellow lab. She loves to fetch and thinks that tennis balls are the best thing ever. Bella could play fetch all day long and even sometimes plays fetch with herself. She gets a bit anxious here at the shelter, but settles down for a snooze in a quiet environment outside of the kennel as long as her human companions are around. Bella knows her basic commands and is already very well house-trained. Occasionally she doesn’t like to share her food, so she would be best in a home with ages teen and up. Although Bella enjoys meeting other dogs, she does not enjoy when they …
