“A NIGHT of FREEDOM” Benefit Concert for Victims of Human Trafficking

46 Beacon St, Boston, MA | Get Directions »
$10.00

f you lived during Civil War times, would you fight against slavery?  Would you be an “abolitionist”?

Well, slavery didn’t end with the Civil War.  Slavery still exists today.  It exists right here in New England.  Survivors of modern day slavery, of what’s called “human-trafficking,” need our support, understanding, and action.  Come participate in a benefit concert called “A NIGHT of FREEDOM”  and become informed about this important issue, hear testimonies from survivors, and gather in solidarity with other modern day abolitionists.  All proceeds go to Amirah Boston, an organization that creates New England based safe-houses for trafficking-survivors.  The event is co-sponsored by The “Not For Sale” CampaignHSA-UWC, and The Women’s Federation for World Peace.

DATE:  December 1st

TIME:  7-9pm (doors open at 6pm)

SUGGESTED DONATION:  $10

FEATURED BANDS:  The Ballroom Thieves, and The Hirokazu Suyama Band, and…many more!

LOCATION:  46 Beacon Street, Boston MA (street parking or park in the Commons Garage)

According to The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center:  “Whether it is called human trafficking, bonded labor, forced labor, or sex trafficking, slavery is present worldwide, including within the United States and, increasingly, in your local community.  An estimated 12 - 27 million people are caught in one or another form of slavery. Between 600,000 and 800,000 are trafficked internationally, with as many as 17,500 people trafficked into the United States. Nearly three out of every four victims are women. Half of modern-day slaves are children.”
