$50.00
On Monday, January 14th, 2013 at 7:30PM guests are invited to the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro for a one-of-kind dinner inspired by chef and author Tamar Adler and her book, An Everlasting Meal: Cooking with Economy and Grace, a practical treatise on the value of cooking that brings joy back to the kitchen and serves as an inspiring rally cry to home cooks. Executive Chef Josh Lewin will serve a three-course dinner with each course inspired by the thought provoking ideas and practical advice about food, cooking and eating in Adler’s book.
For $50, guests will enjoy the special three-course dinner, a signed copy of the book and the opportunity to meet and converse with the author herself. Adler is a former editor of Harper’s Magazine, as well as a former head chef at Farm 22 in Georgia and line chef at Chez Panisse in California. Followed passionately by food luminaries such as Michael Pollan, who instructed his UC Berkeley class of hundreds of students to read it and Corby Kummer, who wrote in The New York Times that An Everlasting Meal contained “lessons so right and so eloquent I think of them as homilies,” Adler has been continually lauded as a voice in the kitchen that is kind, expert, and approachable.
An Everlasting Meal shows readers that cooking isn’t about special equipment or exotic ingredients; it’s about learning the fundamentals, respecting ingredients and following intuition. Presented as series of how-to’s, including “how to boil water,” “how to have balance” and “how to live well,” An Everlasting Meal shows readers that there is pleasure to be had in eating well.
Guests will not want to miss this opportunity to attend a dinner that will remind them why eating should be an act of celebration. Reservations are required by calling 617-723-7575.
