DESCRIPTION:Signs of Freedom is a new installation celebrating the life a
 nd legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other heroes of the Civil Ri
 ghts Movement\, on exhibit through February 2013.&nbsp\; Poignant scenes
  include protest signs from the Civil Rights era captured by Memphis pho
 tographer Ernest Withers and powerful broadsides from the Abolitionist M
 ovement commemorate incredible campaigns for human liberty dating back t
 o the 1850s.&nbsp\; Signs of Freedom is a prelude to Freedom Rising\, a 
 yearlong exhibit and programming commemorating the Sesquicentennial of t
 he Emancipation Proclamation and of the Massachusetts 54th Regiment\, th
 e first black soldiers from the north to serve in the Civil War.&nbsp\; 
 Look for education events and programs related to Signs of Freedom and F
 reedom Rising.&nbsp\; School and organization groups welcome.
