"Red Gold" IMAX screening at New England Aquarium
Please join Commercial Fishermen for Bristol Bay, Thursday, January 24 at the New England Aquarium in Boston for a free screening of the award-winning film “Red Gold,” a documentary that showcases the beauty of Bristol Bay, Alaska and the hardworking people who sustain themselves with its fish. See why they’re so committed to protecting this incredible place from the risks of the proposed Pebble Mine, which, if allowed, would become the largest open-pit mine in North America and store up to 10 billion tons of toxic mine waste in the heart of the watershed.
Incredible Bristol Bay sockeye bites prepared by local Chef Josh Lewin of Beacon Street Bistro will be served, followed by a panel discussion on sustainable seafood with Bristol Bay commercial fisherman Katherine Carscallen, Jared Auerbach, CEO of Red's Best Seafood, Darren Saleta, executive director of the Massachusetts Commercial Striped Bass Association, and Barton Seaver, National Geographic fellow and renowned chef.
