More About King's Chapel Parish House

King's Chapel Parish House

King's Chapel Parish House

64 Beacon St, Boston, MA
617-227-2155

King's Chapel Parish House on Beacon Street houses the church's office, library, social hall, church school and the quaint, light-filled Little Chapel - used for weddings and smaller services. The historic King's Chapel itself, founded in 1686, is the iconic structure that looms over the corner of Tremont and Beacon streets at the foot of the Hill. Church administrators bought the townhouse on Beacon Street in the 1950s to serve as the congregation's parish house.

The charming building is cozy and welcoming, featuring an office filled with bookshelves, vintage furniture and a view to a lovely garden out back, which is used by the church for social functions.

Senior Minister Dianne Arakawa says the church's members appreciate formal worship and theological diversity and are committed to social action.

The Beacon Hill Village, a program for senior residents of Beacon Hill, hosts regular meetings at the King's Chapel Parish House.

Services are held at the Tremont Street church Wednesdays at 12:15pm and Sundays at 11am. King's Chapel is the oldest Anglican church in Boston but made the transition to a Unitarian church in 1786.
