The Homeless Person’s Interfaith Memorial Service of Boston
The Homeless Person’s Interfaith Memorial Service is a national, annual event dedicated towards honoring the lives lost within the homeless community. From coast to coast, people gather together on the longest night of the year to pay homage to the lives lost due to famine, violence and the harshness of living within the outdoor elements, hopeful to bring a greater awareness to an issue which touches so many of us. Represented by an eclectic array of religious, political and community outreach figures, cities and towns across the nation unite, cohered by this painful anomaly that exists within the country. Embraced by the melodic music of talented choirs, heartwarming eulogies and inspiring presentations, the ceremony was originally established to educate and commemorate the lives lost to homelessness.
On December 21st, 2012, The Church on the Hill of Beacon Hill, Massachusetts will embrace the 28 years of tradition in Boston by opening their doors and welcoming all to remember those who have been affected by the hardships of poverty and hunger. Hosting powerful speakers, a sublime vocal arrangement and a presentation of influential readings, the sanction will light a candle for every life lost throughout the year. “The Ringing of the Bells” will also be included as a tribute, asking every able chapel, church and spiritual sponsor to chime their bells at sunset in respect to those who have passed. A reception of refreshments will immediately follow the one hour service, and is graciously offered to all.
Homelessness is a truth that engulfs all variations of people. A truth that encases all ages and backgrounds. A truth to which no answer can ever be found with closed eyes. Please join us to open our hearts, minds and souls at The Church on the Hill, 140 Bowdoin Street, Beacon Hill, Boston, MA 02108 from 12-1pm on December 21, 2012.
