Our mind has limitless potential. But we can easily find ourself stuck in repetitive ways of thinking and behaving. Buddha taught many gentle methods to help us transform our mind and break free from old habits. 

This Tuesday evening meditation class will take a practical look at Buddha’s wisdom teachings and how it can be applied to our modern life.

Each week will include:

<li>guided breathing meditation </li>
<li>a short teaching on how to access more inner calm and kindness </li>
<li>a concluding contemplative time</li>
<li>Q&amp;A time with Gen Khedrub</li></ul>

Location: These classes are held at the Church of the Covenant, 67 Newbury St.

Cost: $12 per class / free for members. 

Gen Kelsang Khedrub is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. He has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 30 years. Gen Khedrub has served as a Resident Teacher in Chicago and in Seattle, and over the years he has taught special events and led meditation retreats around the country. His heartfelt teachings are presented with clarity and humor that make them accessible to everyone.

What better way to relax on a Friday evening than by learning the fundamental tools of mindfulness than we can then use anywhere, anytime?

Enjoy a free Friday evening guided meditation in the Public Garden with Gen Khedrub, the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. Find some calm in this great busy city and have some fun with other meditators.

Emmy-winning actor Gordon Clapp (NYPD Blue) will bring his acclaimed portrayal of poet Robert Frost to Boston this Spring in the one-man show "Robert Frost: This Verse Business" by local playwright A.M. Dolan. It’s an entertaining portrait of the great poet and platform legend whose public “talks” were hot tickets for nearly half a century and an illuminating glimpse of the old bard at home, aware of his fame and failures, with poems still to write and “promises to keep.”\

The Walk for Hunger, Project Bread’s annual fundraising event and the Commonwealth’s largest and oldest day of community action against hunger, is seeking walkers for the celebration. The one-day event is set for Sunday, May 5 on the Boston Common, and will feature family-friendly activities along the 3-mile loop. In its 56th
year, Project Bread invites you to help raise more than $1.3 million to support the leading statewide food security organization’s approach to permanently solve hunger, which includes working year-round across policy initiatives, programs, and hunger prevention measures to ensure food access for all children and families in Massachusetts. 
Likeminded anti-hunger organizations can enroll in the nonprofit’s co-fundraising program, The Commonwealth, forming teams to raise money to support their own work, while also furthering Project Bread’s statewide effort.
