Capital One Awards $10,000 to Non-profit BUILD to Support Student Entrepreneurs as Part of Nationwide Community Service Initiative
This week, Capital One associates are dedicating seven days of volunteerism to BUILD, a non-profit organization in Beacon Hill that helps low-income high school students in Boston become more engaged and better students through entrepreneurship.
Through a $10,000 investment, Capital One 360 associates are creating a more vibrant space in BUILD’s student lab and providing new technology, including computers, iPads, a 3D printer and video conferencing capabilities. They're also working with student business teams throughout the week, helping them grow their businesses using digital tools and technology.
Capital One 360 associates are volunteering as part of Capital One Bank's annual OneWeek, a community service initiative that encourages associates to volunteer with nonprofit partners in neighborhoods across the country. During OneWeek, nearly 8,000 Capital One associate volunteers will tackle more than 1,100 projects and spend 32,850 hours working in communities nationwide.
