Cool Globes Arrive in Boston For a Better Planet

Local business and political leaders gathered at Brewer Plaza on Boston Common Thursday to welcome a new public art display that can be found throughout the city through Oct. 15 to bring attention to climate change.

Fastachi to Now Open Early 2014

Last week we told you that Watertown-based gourmet nut business Fastachi is planning to open a second location on Beacon Hill at 83 Charles St. A new sign has been placed in the window at the location that says the shop is expecting an early 2014 opening. An earlier sign stated the business expected to open in the fall.

Want to Ride Your Bike On the Common? City Still Says No

You still cannot ride your bike on Boston Common, the Public Garden and Commonwealth Avenue Mall, the city recently announced after discussions among top officials.

The decision to continue to keep cyclists out of these city parks was "due to the volume of foot traffic and quantity of events held on those sites on a regular basis," according to a statement from the city Parks and Recreation Department.
