Visions For Vacancies: 296 Cambridge St.

Tell us what you've like to see at this vacant commercial space.

Welcome to Visions For Vacancies, where we ask you what you've like to see at a vacant, local commercial property.

At the foot of Beacon Hill at 296 Cambridge St. sits the former location of Villa Mexico and Grampy's gas station. It's presently fenced off and isn't the prettiest thing to look at if you're walking by.

Villa Mexico went out of business back in February after attempts to move to a nearby location on Grove Street failed. Patch previously reported plans exist to turn the spot into office buildings.

The property was assessed at $922,300 this year, according to city property assessing records. As of this year, the property is owned by Two-Ninety Cambridge St. LLC, based at 137 Newbury St. in Back Bay.
