STONEHAM THEATRE CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS WITH A CLASSIC

Stoneham Theatre is celebrating this Holiday season with a classic, Miracle on 34th Street.  Based on the Twentieth Century Fox motion picture and adapted by the Mountain Community Theatre from the novel by Valentine Davies, this live stage adaptation is sure to be a Holiday delight.

Miracle on 34th Street tells the story of Kris Kringle who agrees to serve as a last-minute replacement for Santa in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Kris is so convincing that he is offered a job as the Santa for Macy’s Department store.  He claims to be the real Santa Claus, but how can he convince the doubters, including an 8-year-old girl who longs to find something to believe in?

Ilyse Robbins, director of last season’s hit musical Thoroughly Modern Millie, returns to Stoneham Theatre to direct Miracle on 34th Street.   “I feel that this show is not simply about faith in Santa, Christianity, or even God,” Robbins shared.  “I think it is a show about faith in people, in us, and in possibility.”
