Beacon Hill Civic Association Urges Those Moving to Help Keep Neighborhood Clean

The group offered helpful tips to manage trash.

The Beacon Hill Civic Association is encouraging new and departing neighbors to help keep the Hill clean over this "move-in" weekend. The neighborhood group sent out an email Thursday with the following information:

  • Trash days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you see someone putting out trash before Monday morning, be a good neighbor and explain that they should wait until Monday morning to put out their trash.
  • The City will have Inspectional Services Department (ISD) workers patrolling the streets and giving out tickets for trash violations over the weekend.
  • If you see trash that has been put out before Monday, please call the Mayor's Hotline at 617-635-4500 and tell them about it.  If you have a smart phone, you can use Boston's Citizens Connect app to send a picture of the trash and the app will use GPS to log the location.
