Five Things: Casting for New Reality Show Starring 'The Rock' on Saturday

1. Reality Show Open Call: Casting for a new reality series on TNT with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is happening in Boston this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jillians, 3 Lansdowne St. Everyone must bring a recent photo to the open call. For more information, go to www.theherotnt.com. Anyone interested should be 21 years old by January 2013, have a valid passport and be willing to travel outside the United States for a three-week adventure.

2. Downtown School Choice: Rep. Marty Walz is going to meet with downtown neighborhoods to see how they want to influence the Boston Public School choice discussion. The meeting will be Friday at noon at 74 Joy St.

3. Police Meet and Greet: Don't forget the fall Police "Meet and Greet" at the Firehouse, 127 Mt. Vernon St., tonight at 7 p.m. Come hear the latest in police and public safety news on Beacon Hill.

4. Women’s National Book Association of Boston Celebrates National Reading Group Month: Memoirist Kate Whouley (Remembering the Music, Forgetting the Words) hosts a discussion and Q&A with novelists David Gillham (City of Women), Martha Southgate (The Taste of Salt) and Rosie Sultan (Helen Keller in Love) at 140 Clarendon St. Admission is $20.

5. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a warm, sunny day with a high in the 60s. The evening will cloud over and the temperature will drop to the 50s.
