Five Things: Leaf Collection Starts Today

And more to know today, Oct. 15.

1. Leaf Collection Starts Today: The city's Public Works Deparment can collect your leaves or yard debris to make compost to fertilize area parks. They will begin collecting on regularly scheduled recycling days starting today and lasting until Nov. 30. 

2. Arts After School at the Children’s Art Centre: Open to children in kindergarten and first grade, the class allows to explore the art world while interacting with others in a supplement classroom. The cost for the entire five-week course at the Children’s Art Centre in Boston is $630.  
 
3. Poetry Workshop with Boston Poet Laureate Sam Cornish: The Boston Public Library is offering a poetry workshop with Boston Poet Laureate Same Cornish from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. This workshop is free but space is limited, please call 617-859-2339 to register.

4. Latino Heritage Month Celebration: City Councilor-At-Large Felix Arroyo will be hosting a Latino Heritage Month Celebration at Boston City Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

5. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a warm, cloudy day with a chance of rain and a high of 70. The evening will be cloudy chance of rain and lows in the 50s.
