Boston.com 2nd Annual Running with the Bridesmaids Fun Run

Always
the bridesmaid? Still have a closet full of taffeta, tulle, and tutus? It is
time to put these unique dresses to good use, this time for a good
cause. On Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, more than 1000 people are expected to dress
up in their slightly-used bridesmaids dress or distinctive wedding finery and
come together for a one-mile fun run around the Boston Common to benefit the Big Sister Association of Greater
Boston
.



The
Boston.com Running with the Bridesmaids event is presented by Walgreens and
produced in conjunction with the Downtown
Boston Business Improvement District (BID)

All
are welcome to participate, whether they have the appropriate attire or not.
However, prizes will be given out for the best of the worst dressed bridal
party and the best of the worst dressed individual. Prizes include a weekend
getaway at Mohegan Sun, an overnight stay for two at the Boston Harbor Hotel
along with dinner at Strega Waterfront, a rest & recreation package at the
Omni Mount Washington Resort and finally, a day of beauty at Fascino Salon and
Spa.

The
fun run will begin and end at the Pedestrian Zone in Downtown Crossing, located
at the intersection of Winter and Summer Streets. As runners circle around
Boston Common, they will encounter a host of wedding-like activities. Once they
have crossed the finish line, participants will be encourage to keep the party
going at the post-race reception at Petite Robert
Central Bistro at 101 Arch Street, Boston.  



 Registration for the run is $25. To register in advance,
visit www.boston.com/bridesmaids. All proceeds will benefit the
Big Sister Association of Greater Boston. Day-of registration will take place
at Walgreens in Downtown Crossing, located at the corner of Summer and School
Streets.
