Discussion & Slide Presentation: More Charles Frani Photos of a Neighborhood in Transition

The Museum’s exhibit, A Neighborhood in Transition: 1961-1980, features about two dozen Charles Frani photographs that portray major changes in the West End over the course of the two decades. Exhibit Co-Curator Duane Lucia has assembled a slide presentation featuring more than 300 additional Frani photos that didn’t make the exhibit cut, but nonetheless are compelling and tell a broader story of the changes taking place in what was to become Government Center, Charles River Park and the new Boston in general. The images are clustered in stories about such sections of the West End as Cambridge Street, Scollay Square, Bowdoin Square, North Station and Charles River Park.
