Join us for our monthly Kabbalat Shabbat service, dinner and shmoozing as we welcome Boston City Councillor Michael Ross
Michael Ross has been a member of the Boston City Council since 1999. His district spans from Beacon Hill to Mission Hill, where he currently lives.
As an elected representative, Mike has faced a number of interesting and complex issues. For example, he helped bring physical education back into several Boston public schools, and he has championed the opening and revival of elementary schools in underserved neighborhoods.
As a city councilor, Mike stood up for taxpayers by successfully negotiating a controversial contract between the firefighters union and the city, involving a labor expert from MIT who helped saved Boston taxpayers $45 million.
Mike is also Of Counsel for Prince Lobel a mid-sized law firm in Boston, MA which specializes in environmental sustainability as well as real estate areas of the law.
Mike is a first-generation American. His father, Stephan Ross, a Holocaust survivor of ten concentration camps, was rescued from Dachau by American soldiers. Mike holds a bachelor's degree from Clark University in Worcester, an MBA from Boston University, and a law degree from Suffolk University.
