Thursdays at 6B Lounge

When we launched Thursdays at 6B Lounge last fall, we didn't know exactly what would become of the night. Would it be a lounge night? Would it be a dance night? Would anyone even show up? We settled in and prepared for anything.

Soon, we realized a lot of folks craved something that was a little bit more than a night at the bar and something much less than a typical Boston club night filled with thump-thump-thump music and exuberant college kids. They wanted to catch up with friends over drinks and maybe, if the mood struck just right, do a little bit of dancing. And just like that, Thursdays at 6B Lounge was born: a simple, fun, and light way to relax, unwind, and get primed for the weekend.

We start every Thursday with a mix of funk, soul, disco, and R&B from the '60s and '70s. The music follows where the night's vibe takes us. Sometimes, that means exploring long-forgotten gems from deep in our collective consciousness; other times, it means pulling some guilty pleasures from today's pop charts. Whatever the style or decade, the intention is always to have a little bit of fun and create some memories along the way.
