World's Largest Rowing Competition Strokes into Boston at 49th Annual Head Of The Charles Regatta

Top rowing athletes, ages 14 to 85, will travel from all over the globe to test their skills again in front of more than 400,000 spectators for the 2013 Head Of The Charles Regatta – scheduled for Saturday, October 19 through Sunday, October 20. 

The 49th annual Head of the Charles Regatta presented by BNY Mellon will bring together athletes and spectators along a three-mile stretch of Boston’s historic Charles River during the historic two-day race event.  Fans and spectators flock to the riverbanks to watch male and female rowers compete in 61 nail-biting events, while taking in the sights and sounds of the scenic area that has captivated millions since the Regatta’s inception in 1964. 

In addition to the exhilarating rowing action, the Regatta offers a number of family-friendly activities for all ages, including a rowing and fitness expo; food vendors serving delicacies from all over the world; and Reunion Village – the half-way point between the race offering clubs, schools, alumni groups, parents, boosters and more the opportunity to catch up with friends in a fun and relaxed environment.
