Alleged Cambridge Trust Robber Indicted

The man police say used a pellet gun to rob Cambridge Trust Company in June was indicted in federal court Tuesday.

James Ferguson will face one count of armed bank robbery for the role prosecutors say he played in the June 28 robbery.

According to police reports at the time, Ferguson entered the bank and wearing a clear mask with a black line near the mouth and carrying a black gun. He approached a teller and ordered him to over over money. The teller complied, then Ferguson said he wanted the teller to open the vault doors, which the teller did, according to reports.

The robbery took about 10 minutes, and the indictment indicates that Ferguson left the bank with $63, 616. But the money didn't stay in his possession long. An officer responding to the scene came across Ferguson on Beaver Place, where he was arrested at gunpoint. .
