Beacon Hill Rape Suspect Arrested

Anthony Williams will be arraigned on the charge tomorrow.

Today, Tuesday, November 27, 2012, officers located and arrested the suspect wanted for the sexual assault which occurred on Saturday, November 10, 2012, in the Beacon Hill section of the city. Officers arrested Anthony Williams, 45, of Boston and charged him with Receiving Stolen Property and Rape. Williams is expected to be arraigned tomorrow at Boston Municipal Court.

At about 3:15am, on Saturday, November 10, 2012, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for a sexual assault in the area of Joy & Myrtle Streets. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that an unknown suspect forced his way into her apartment, displayed a weapon (possibly a knife) robbed her and sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as a black male with braided hair, 5’8” in height, late twenties to early thirties in age, medium complexion, wearing a du-rag type cap, a tan colored ¾ length construction type jacket, dark jeans and dark sneakers. Suspect believed to be carrying a large blue backpack.

The Boston Police Department continues to actively investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives assigned to the Sexual Assault Unit at (617) 343-4400.
