Police: Man Takes Out Hammer in Apparent Road Rage on Cambridge Street

At 11:20 p.m. Friday police responded to Cambridge Street for a report of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

According to police reports, a man who had been driving on Cambridge Street said that another driver, whom he did not know, was following him and yelling obscenities at him. When the victim stopped his car, the suspect spat in his face through the open driver's side window.

The suspect then fled and the victim followed him to be able to write down his plate number, police reports say. Then the victim stopped his car and came out if it holding a hammer up and yelling more obscenities.

The suspect then went back in his car, without making contact with the victim, and drove away.  

Thursday, Sept. 20

• At 10:30 p.m. police responded to 15 Revere St. for a report of a noisy party or radio.

Friday, Sept. 21

• At 9:45 a.m. police responded to 31 Anderson St. for a report of breaking and entering into a residence during the daytime by force. According to police reports, the victim said that his home was broken into during the day, while he was at work. The victim said his front door had been pried open and several electronics were missing. 
• At 12:18 p.m. police responded to 107 Pinckney St. for a report of larceny from a vehicle, $200 or more.
• At 3:28 p.m. police responded to 277 Cambridge St. for a report of assault and battery. 

Saturday, Sept. 22

• At 3:45 a.m. police responded to Charles Street for a report of assault and battery. According to police reports, a man who had just left a Beacon Street bar and was trying to hail a cab on Charles Street was attacked by two or three men, none of whom he knew. The men broke the victims jaw and knocked out two of his teeth. He was unsure if anything was stolen and did not know why he was targeted, police reports said. 
• At 10 a.m. police responded to 26 Hancock St. for a report of larceny from a motor vehicle, $50 or less.

Sunday, Sept. 23

• At 1:20 p.m. police responded to 133 Charles St. for a report of larceny, $200 or more.
