Police and DEA Agents Conduct Drug Trafficking Sting on Cambridge Street

Police and Drug Enforcement Agency officers arrested a man they say had half a kilo of cocaine on Cambridge Street Thursday. According to police reports, an ongoing drug investigation led them to a man sitting outside of Grampy's gas station, at 296 Cambridge St.

The officers read the man his Miranda Rights in his native language and asked him what was in his bag. He told them he had a delivery for someone; when officers questioned him further he told them it was cocaine, according to police reports. Officers asked to look in the bag and saw what was determined to be 500 grams of cocaine. 

Officers also found a Social Security card on the man that did not belong to him. He told officers he was in the country illegally, they said. He was arrested on charges of trafficking in a class B substance (cocaine) and forgery of registry document. 

Tuesday, April 17

• At 2 a.m. police responded to 130 Myrtle St. for a report of breaking and entering into a residence at night with no force. According to police reports, a woman said that someone she didn't know reached into her open window and pointed a flashlight in her face while she was in bed sleeping. 
• At 6:45 a.m. police responded to 5 Blossom St. for a report of larceny in a building, $200 or more.
• At 8:30 a.m. police responded to 21 Beacon St. for a report of threats to do bodily harm.

Wednesday, April 18

• At 3:48 p.m. police responded to 76 Beacon St. for possession of a class D drug (marijuana).
• At 4:15 p.m. police responded Cambridge Street for a report of a motor vehicle leaving the scene of an accident that caused property damage.
• At 10:20 a.m. police responded to 120 Cambridge St. for a report of a breaking and entering into a non-residence at night by force. According to police reports, the glass door to Uptown Cafe was shattered and the restaurant's cash register was on the floor. An adjacent business had its cash register stolen.
