Police: Man Chokes Employee, Assaults Customers at CVS

Police news from Beacon Hill, Aug. 23 to 26.

As a CVS employee stood outside the store, at 191 Cambridge St., Thursday night taking a smoke break, a stranger came up to him and started to choke him. The assailant then went inside the store and began running around, knocking items off shelves and assaulting customers, according to police reports. 

The supervisor at CVS called police at 10:30 p.m. The man had fled the scene and police were unable to find him, reports state. The employee who was assaulted declined medical attention. Police are investigating.

  • At 1:30 p.m. police responded to 161 Cambridge St. for a report of vandalism.
  • At 6:45 p.m. police responded to 1 Beacon St. for a report of larceny in a building, $200 or more. According to police reports, a man reported that cash and credit cards were stolen from his gym locker between 5:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
  • At 8 p.m. police responded to Charles Street for a report of larceny from a vehicle, under $50.

  • At 9 a.m. police responded to Charles Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a bicycle.

  • At 2 p.m. police responded to Beacon Street for a report of a motor vehicle leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in property damage.

Sunday, Aug. 26

  • At 10:30 a.m. police responded to 191 Cambridge St. for a report of larceny by shoplifting, $50 to $199.
  • At 12:41 p.m. police responded to 100 Cambridge St. for a report of larceny by shoplifting, $50 to $199.
