Police Visit Home of Man Arrested Near Kerry's House

CBS Boston reported investigators were at Vladimir Romanov's West Roxbury apartment but authorities did not disclose why.

CBS Boston reported that authorities visited a West Roxbury apartment complex Saturday that's home to a man arrested last weekend outside the Beacon Hill home of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

Vladimir Romanov, 29, who has addresses in both West Roxbury and Chestnut Hill according to CBS Boston, has been held since his arraignment in Boston Monday after he was charged with public drinking on Beacon Hill.

Authorities say Romanov was observed taking pictures of the windows of Kerry's home last Sunday. He allegedly had the smell of alcohol emanating from his breath, as well as an open container of alcohol and a pellet gun in his vehicle.

Romanov had his bail revoked and was ordered held on prior charges not related to the Beacon Hill incident.

Investigators did not disclose to CBS Boston why they were at Romanov's apartment building Saturday. According to CBS Boston, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said both local and diplomatic authorities were "taking a closer look" at Romanov.
