West Roxbury Man Arrested Outside Kerry's Home

UPDATE, MONDAY, 9 a.m.: WBZ-TV reports the man arrested outside U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's home Sunday has been identified as Vladimir Romanov, 29, of West Roxbury.

The news station reported Romanov may have been drunk at the time of his arrest, and that he will be arraigned Monday in Boston Municipal Court.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man, reportedly in possession of a pellet gun, was arrested outside U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s home in Boston's Beacon Hill area Sunday afternoon after he was seen taking a picture.

A member of Kerry’s security team noticed the man taking a photograph of a window in Kerry’s home and requested assistance from Boston Police, according to a report on BostonHerald.com.

A Boston Police spokesperson confirmed Sunday night that a 29-year-old man was arrested in the area of 19 Louisburg Square for possession of an open container of alcohol. She could not confirm whether the man was in possession of a pellet gun but said more information would be released Monday morning.

The former U.S. senator from Massachusetts was at Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Charlestown visiting his wife at the time of the incident, the Herald reported.
