Boston Redevelopment Authority Website Getting an Overhaul

The BRA is working with a Charlestown firm to create a more user friendly, interactive platform where residents can find documents and track projects.

The Boston Redevelopment Authority is preparing to unveil a new, more user friendly website this fall aimed at providing residents with quick access to public documents.

Charlestown-based digital marketing firm Boston Interactive was selected to do the redesign.

“Thanks to the redesign, more public documents will be accessible online, offering visitors easy navigation to BRA Board agendas and videos, zoning maps, Article 80 filings, planning documents and research reports,” BRA officials wrote in a press release about the new site. “In addition, archived paper documents are being scanned and uploaded. All of these efforts will make the BRA even more accessible and transparent.”

The new site, which will remain at bostonredevelopmentauthority.org, is also expected to be more interactive, giving visitors space to submit comments about planning initiatives and projects, track their status, purchase maps and view requests for proposals, requests for quotations and project bids.
