UPDATE: Body Found Near Longfellow Bridge Today Identified

Police say body tentatively identified as 36-year-old Boston man.

State police responded to the Longfellow Bridge today at 9 a.m. for a report of an object that could be a body floating in the Charles River. 

Police, responding in two boats, found and recovered an "unresponsive male" from an area just east of the second span of the Longfellow Bridge.

He was transported back to the State Police Marine Unit Base, where Boston EMS pronounced him deceased. He was turned over to the State Medical Examiners Office.

Police have no further information at this time. An investigation will be conducted by the Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley’s Office.
