Red Line Diversion From MIT to Park Street This Weekend

This weekend marks for the first of five bus diversions due to the Longfellow Bridge project this year.

The first of five planned 2013 bus diversions for MBTA Red Line service between Kendall/MIT station and Cambridge at Park Street station in Boston will take place this weekend.

According to the MBTA, buses will replace trains along the Red Line route servicing Kendall/MIT station, Charles/MGH station and Park Street station from the start of the day Saturday, Aug. 10 to the end of the day Sunday, Aug. 11.

This bus diversion is due to the ongoing Longfellow Bridge rehabilitation project. The MBTA said regular service will resume for the Red Line on the morning of Monday, Aug. 12.

The remaining bus diversions for this year will be the weekends of Aug. 24-25, Oct. 19-20, Oct. 26-27 and Nov. 2-3.
