Local Author Tells a Con Man's Tale

Andrew Spencer spoke to Beacon Hillers last night about his new book, Tower of Thieves: Inside AIG’s Culture of Corporate Greed.

Nantucket author Andrew Spencer stood in front of the small, friendly crowd in the historic Hampshire House on Tuesday night ready to discuss his new book about greed, cruelty and the downfall of a multi-billion dollar investment giant. Spencer's book, Tower of Thieves: Inside AIG's Culture of Corporate Greed, is based off of the confessions of one high-ranking AIG employee who almost got away with hundreds of millions of dollars in tax evasion.   Knowing he was headed for prison, AIG's former Vice President of Human Resources John Falcetta approached Spencer and unloaded his life story.  He shared his laundry list of indiscretions for one simple and frank reason: "I want people to know not to #!** with me," he told Spencer.
