The Sovereign Bank at 67 Beacon St. was held up by a suspect carrying a gun. According to multiple reports on twitter, the suspect robbed the bank and is now making her way to the Red Line. James Ferguson will be charged in U.S. District Court on one count of armed robbery.
The man police say used a pellet gun to rob Cambridge Trust Company in June was indicted in federal court Tuesday. James Ferguson will face one count of armed bank robbery for the role prosecutors say he played in the June 28 robbery. According to police reports at the time, Ferguson entered the bank and wearing a clear mask with a black line near the mouth and carrying a black gun. He approached a teller and ordered him to over over money. The teller complied, then Ferguson said he wanted the teller to open the vault doors, which the teller did, according to reports. Police are looking for the man who got away with thousands of dollars in Tuesday's robbery.
Police say a middle-aged man robbed Hingham Institution for Savings at gunpoint Tuesday just before 5 p.m. The man approached a teller, partially displayed the barrel of a black handgun inside a black duffle bag and told her she had 30 seconds to open the safe and give him the money, according to police reports. He told her not to push the alarm button and not to include any bait money. The teller retreived the cash, totalling $9,300, at which point the robber told her to put it on the counter. He then fled the bank, walking down Charles Street toward Beacon Street. The suspect is described as a white male around 50 years old, 5-foot-10 and about 180 lbs. He was wearing a white baseball cap, dark sunglasses and a gray T-shirt.

Police on scene to investigate at 65 Beacon St.
Police confirmed to Patch that they are on scene at Cambridge Trust, 65 Beacon St., for a report of an armed robbery. The robbery was reported at 5:25 p.m., police said. Universal Hub is reporting that a white male fled in a Cadillac, possibly wearing plaid shorts, a white jumpsuit or a yellow shirt. The website also reported, via its Twitter feed, that the car was dumped in Copley Square. Police did not confirm this information. As of 5:50 p.m., police were at the bank and no further information about the robbery was available. This is the third time the bank has been robbed since May.

After recognizing a photo, Boston Police make an arrest for the Sovereign Bank robbery on Canal St.
Boston Police arrested suspect Michael Fidler, 32, of Boston, Monday for a bank robbery at the Sovereign Bank on 125 Canal St. after an officer recognized Fidler's face from past encounters. Police say Fidler walked into the Sovereign Bank at around 11:30 Monday morning and, according to the teller, approached the window and handed her a note which read, "Give me all $100, $50, $20 and $10. Hurry up and no dye packs." The teller complied and the suspect fled, heading over the bridge toward Charlestown in a blue Jeep Cherokee. Boston Police have confirmed reports of a bank robbery at the Sovereign Bank on 125 Canal St. Police say there is no evidence the suspect was armed or that anyone was injured. The robbery occurred around 11:30 Monday morning. The suspect was described as a white male wearing sunglasses, a red sweater and blue pants. A police spokeswoman said he fled in a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee. The spokeswoman didn't know how much money was stolen. The getaway car was reportedly spotted in Charlestown.
