Victims of the Boston Marathon bombings can file claims starting today through June 15, to possibly receive One Fund Boston assistance. Funds will start being distributed by June 30. One Fund Boston administrator Kenneth Feinberg released the final distribution protocol on Wednesday, which outlines how initial funds raised will be handed out, according to a City of Boston press statement. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev wrote a note on the boat in Watertown where police found him hiding.
Boston Marathon Bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev left a goodbye note claiming that the bombings were retribution for the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and said he and his brother were martyrs. Tsarnaev scrawled the note on the inside of the boat where police found and arrested him, according to a report on CBS News Thursday morning. According the CBS report, the note stated: Bullets pierced the wall of the boat where the note was found. The shots were fired after a police officer covering the side of the boat spotted Tsarnaev come up out of the tarp and thought he had a bomb, according to the report. Dunkin' Donuts customers across New England donated more than $467,000 to the One Fund Boston. Copley Square makeshift memorial continues to grow as one-month anniversary of Boston Marathon bombings passes.
Crowds continued to gather at the makeshift memorial in Copley Square commemorating those impacted by the Boston Marathon bombings Wednesday, which marked one month since the attacks shook the city. There was no special occasion, no moment silence as 2:50 p.m. came and went, which was the time on April 15 when two bombs exploded near the finish line, killing three and injurying 260 others. Instead, those at the memorial shared their own moments of quiet reflection as the memorial continues to grow. Several news outlets reported on the British Prime Minister's visit to Boston this week.
British Prime Minister David Cameron is spending time this week in Boston to offer his condolences to Gov. Deval Patrick on the Boston Marathon bombings and also discuss the lessons learned from the tragedy, according to WCVB.com. The news station reported Cameron arrived in Boston Monday and went into a private meeting with Patrick. While Cameron didn't address the meeting with reporters after the meeting, WCVB reported Patrick said the meeting "was great." Early Tuesday morning, Cameron and Patrick visited the makeshift Boston Marathon bombings memorial in Copley Square, according to an Associated Press report on WBUR.com. Cameron met with President Barack Obama at the White House Monday before coming to Boston, according to WBUR.

Nearly 100 chefs will be cooking up a special benefit at Fenway Park on May 15 to benefit The One Fund.
The Fenway neighborhood will play host to a large-scale fundraising event for the One Fund next week, known as Boston Bites Back. Nearly 100 of Boston's top chefs will be coming together to present a special culinary tasting event at Fenway Park on May 15 in order to raise $1 million for The One Fund. Investigators are looking into the possible involvement of the accused Boston Marathon bombers in the 2011 triple homicide in Waltham.
Authorities have amassed evidence indicating accused Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokar Tsarnaev possibly killed three men in a Waltham home in 2011, according to ABC News. Investigators have "mounting evidence" including forensics pointing toward the Tsarnaev brothers," says ABC. Tamerlan was killed in an April 19 shootout with police in Watertown and Dzhorkar was later captured hiding in a boat in Watertown. I think the memorial is a wonderful tribute...but it also saddens me because just the weekend after the capture there was an incredibly tragic youth shooting in the South End- killing 5 teenagers and injurying 20 others...that NO ONE is talking about.
