Dzhokhar Tsarnaev wrote a note on the boat in Watertown where police found him hiding.
Boston Marathon Bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev left a goodbye note claiming that the bombings were retribution for the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and said he and his brother were martyrs. Tsarnaev scrawled the note on the inside of the boat where police found and arrested him, according to a report on CBS News Thursday morning. According the CBS report, the note stated: Bullets pierced the wall of the boat where the note was found. The shots were fired after a police officer covering the side of the boat spotted Tsarnaev come up out of the tarp and thought he had a bomb, according to the report. The note may help prosecutors' case against Tsarnaev. While he admitted to being behind the bombings, the statements were made before …

Copley Square makeshift memorial continues to grow as one-month anniversary of Boston Marathon bombings passes.
Crowds continued to gather at the makeshift memorial in Copley Square commemorating those impacted by the Boston Marathon bombings Wednesday, which marked one month since the attacks shook the city. There was no special occasion, no moment silence as 2:50 p.m. came and went, which was the time on April 15 when two bombs exploded near the finish line, killing three and injurying 260 others. Instead, those at the memorial shared their own moments of quiet reflection as the memorial continues to grow. Ed Starbuck of Hyannis has been coming to the area nearly every day since shortly after the bombings. What started as a few flags he put down grew into the memorial that has been moved four times, most recently to its current locale. "I would …

A letter from Boston mayor Thomas M. Menino: Dear Selectman Llodra, On behalf of the people of Boston I thank you and the people of Newtown for sending me the banner filled with signatures and words of prayer and support. All of us were very moved by this kind and thoughtful gesture. As such, we have proudly displayed the banner in the lobby of Boston City Hall for all to see and appreciate. In the aftermath of the attack at the Boston Marathon, our city has been flooded with offers of support and prayers from around the world. None of them, however, meant as much as the banner you sent from Newtown. You know the darkest depths of tragedy, but you also know that unity, resilience and strength allow us to triumph over terror. Your community…
Investigators are looking into the possible involvement of the accused Boston Marathon bombers in the 2011 triple homicide in Waltham.
Authorities have amassed evidence indicating accused Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokar Tsarnaev possibly killed three men in a Waltham home in 2011, according to ABC News. Investigators have "mounting evidence" including forensics pointing toward the Tsarnaev brothers," says ABC. Tamerlan was killed in an April 19 shootout with police in Watertown and Dzhorkar was later captured hiding in a boat in Watertown. After the April 15 bombings, federal and state authorities began investigating the brothers' possible link to the murders after learning Tamerlan was a close friend of one of the victims, Brendan Mess. Mess, along with his two friends, Erik Weissman and Raphael Teken, were found murdered in a Harding Avenue home in …

I think the memorial is a wonderful tribute...but it also saddens me because just the weekend after the capture there was an incredibly tragic youth shooting in the South End- killing 5 teenagers and injurying 20 others...that NO ONE is talking about. Where is the memorial and love for the kids of Boston who are dealing with senseless violence EVERY DAY...? What happened on Marathon Monday and in…   more ›
