Two videos have been released this week of the man wanted for questioning.
Boston Police released a new video Tuesday of an individual wanted for questioning in connecting to a reported sexual assault that took place last Thursday in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Police released a different video Monday of someone they'd like to speak to in connection to the same incident. Police described the man as "a white male, early 20’s, about 5’8” in height, thin build, approximately 150 lbs, fair skin, dark hair and dark eyes, wearing a black or gray flat-brimmed cap, black shirt and believed to be wearing long shorts and sneakers." Male in video wanted for questioning in one of three reported assaults in the area last week.
Boston Police released a video Monday evening showing a male they are seeking in the investigation of one of three reported sexual assaults in the Beacon Hill neighborhood last week. The video, which you can watch to the right or here on YouTube, shows a male police would like to question in connection with an incident that occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Anderson Street. Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said there will be more uniformed Boston Police officers around schools the next couple of days – even though there is no connection to Boston in today's tragic shooting in Connecticut.
There will be more uniformed Boston Police officers patrolling in and around Boston schools the next coming days in response to Friday's tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Boston Police Commissioner posted the following statement on BPDnews.com: "Our deepest sympathies go out to the victims and the families of those affected by the Newtown, Connecticut shooting. I have been in touch with the Superintendent of Boston Public Schools and the Chief of the Transit Police. Although there is no connection to the Boston area, the shooting is disturbing. A Charlestown man was arrested on Friday for possession of child pornography.
James Mansfield, 47 of Charlestown was arrested on Friday and charged with possession of child pornography. According to BPD News, his arrest came after an Internet investigation revealed Mansfield was actively engaging in graphically sexual chats and exchanging photographs of boys in various stages of undress. Boston Police executed a search warrant at Mansfield’s home and discovered evidence on his personal computer. Mansfield was placed on Administrative leave effective immediately from his executive assistant position in the Boston Transportation Department. At least four people were stabbing within minutes of each other on Tremont Street and Mass Ave.
Updated at 5:09 p.m. A statement from the District Attorney's Office confirms "investigators believe that the individuals involved in this afternoon’s multiple stabbing downtown are known to one another and that at least some of those individuals had a connection to a case in Suffolk Superior Court." The D.A. will not identify the case to the protect the court proceedings. A homicide prosecutor has been assigned and was at the scene, and is in close contact with police, the statement said. Beacon Hill’s new police captain may not be from the collection of neighborhoods known as Area A-1, but his 30 years of experience with the department have taken him to every neighborhood in the city. Captain Tom Lee has had “a number of jobs” while wearing his uniform, ranging form working the front desk as a cadet to commanding the city’s SWAT team. And as a detective with the city’s drug control unit, he said, he made more than 1,000 arrests. Valets should be given more training, power, Consalvo said.
City Councilor Robert Consalvo wants valets to truly become “the last line of defense” when it comes to relevant instances of drunken driving in Boston. The District 5 councilor said at Wednesday’s Boston City Council meeting that he wants the city to work with valet companies to implement a plan that would better train valets to identify drunk drivers and give them the power to withhold a suspected drunk driver’s keys and vehicle for a designated period of time. “The ultimate goal is not to be punitive,” Consalvo told his fellow councilors, “ … it’s to keep drunk drivers off the road.” Consalvo’s proposal will go on to the council’s Committee on Public Safety. Police are searching for six suspects from a Northeastern University surveillance video that shows them assaulting a woman from behind, forcefully throwing her to the ground and punching and kicking her in a attempt to take her purse. The incident occurred Monday at about 11:50 a.m. in the area of 285 Huntington Ave. The victim, who has not made herself known to officers, was able to retain her bag. Boston Police detectives are seeking to identify both the victim and the suspects portrayed in the video. Why dont people get involved in helping victims in cases like this? They could at least call 911. They could yell "stop that" at the perps. Or they could step in and try to help the victim. If they do not, there will be more and more such incidents, because perps who might not otherwise dare will be encouraged to do these things.
