Boston City Councilor At-Large Ayanna Pressley and Brookline Selectwoman Jesse Mermell have teamed up to write a blog about their visit to Charlotte for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. It's a lively blog in which the two are writing about the intricacies of the DNC such as hotels, extracurricular events, meeting politicians, and more. Read their blog here. Here is an excerpt from one of Pressley's posts: Even hard core Dems and the most seasoned of pols need inspiration from time to time. Governor Dukakis never disappoints. I am inspired every time I am in his presence. He remains as accessible, genuine, passionate, and as insightful, as ever! At this morning’s MA Delegation breakfast, he shared a story about door knocking for …
Elizabeth Warren, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night. What did you think of her speech?
The system is rigged against middle class families, and unchecked corporate greed will take us all down, according to Massachusetts U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren who spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night. "Each generation built something solid so that the next generation could build something better," she said. "But not for many years. Talk to the construction worker from Malden who went nine months without a job... Talk to the student in Worcester who worked hard to finish his degree and now he's drowning in debt...The system is rigged against them." Warren, who took the stage just prior to former president Bill Clinton, said Romney's plan to lower the richest Americans' taxes would send the economy …

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick came out firing Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, attacking his predecessor Mitt Romney's record in the Bay State. "Mitt Romney talks a lot about all the things he's fixed," he said. "I can tell you that Massachusetts wasn't one of them. He's a fine fellow and a great salesman, but as governor he was more interested in having the job than doing it." By the end of his speech, which touched on President Barack Obama's first-term accomplishments, the economy, role of government and the American Dream, Patrick had the packed crowd of delegates on their feet and in a frenzy, but we want to know: How did Patrick's speech play here in Boston? Democrats say Romney was bad for the Bay State.
CHARLOTTE — State Auditor Suzanne Bump vouched for President Barack Obama's record on jobs while jabbing at former Gov. Mitt Romney's job-creation credentials during an appearance Monday at the Democratic National Convention. "Mitt Romney talked about his focus being on jobs … the reality is that he was not a job creator when he was in Massachusetts," said Bump at a Massachusetts delegation breakfast. "He used the same tired strategies of Republicans before him." Criticism for Romney, who governed the state from 2003 to 2007, was plentiful at the morning event. "We try to block out those dark years," said Chairman John Walsh. "But you have a responsibility to tell people about Mitt Romney." Walsh contends the Bay State ranked 47th in job …
