Beacon Street Sovereign Bank Robbed

The suspect has attempted to flee the scene on foot.

The Sovereign Bank at 67 Beacon St. was held up by a suspect carrying a gun. According to multiple reports on twitter, the suspect robbed the bank and is now making her way to the Red Line. From @NEFireBuff: "Boston MA: Bank robbery update, gun shown, black female, about 5 ft 4". Also wearing a black wig" From @AlertNewEngland: "Boston MA, update: Bank robber may be making her way to MBTA Red Line at Charles. Bank robbery escape routes always lead to the Red Line." Another report from the Breaking News Network indicates the suspect is "dressed in all black with black scarf with some sort of glitter on it and a possible fake black wig." Police Release Photos of Robbery Suspect

The surveillance cameras at Sovereign Bank caught these images of a man robbing the financial institution.

Boston Police have released photos and a detailed description of the man they believe robbed Sovereign Bank at 1 Beacon Street Thursday morning. The surveillance photos show the man whom police described as “a white male, mid 20’s, 5’11’’, wearing a white hat and carrying a green nylon bag.” According to the post on bpdnews.com, the suspect ran from the scene towards park Street Station. That description offers new and different details from an initial description given over police radio transmissions in the immediate wake of the incident. No weapon was shown during the robbery and no one was injured in the morning ordeal, according to police. 1 Beacon Street Sovereign Bank Robbed

The alleged thief fled on foot after robbing the bank.

A man robbed the Sovereign Bank at 1 Beacon St. Thursday morning. The robbery took place at 8:39 a.m.. “The bank task force was notified,” said Boston Police Spokesperson Elaine Driscoll. Initial police transmissions over public scanners said the alleged robber took $1,000, but that number is unconfirmed by Boston Police. The task force will investigate to determine how much was actually taken during the robbery, said Driscoll. There were no reported injuries during the ordeal, she said. An initial description of the suspect given over police scanners said he was male, about six-feet, two-inches tall, wore latex gloves during the robbery, and fled on foot after securing a sum of money. Police Arrest Suspected Bank Robber with a Familiar Mug

After recognizing a photo, Boston Police make an arrest for the Sovereign Bank robbery on Canal St.

Boston Police arrested suspect Michael Fidler, 32, of Boston, Monday for a bank robbery at the Sovereign Bank on 125 Canal St. after an officer recognized Fidler's face from past encounters. Police say Fidler walked into the Sovereign Bank at around 11:30 Monday morning and, according to the teller, approached the window and handed her a note which read, "Give me all $100, $50, $20 and $10. Hurry up and no dye packs."  The teller complied and the suspect fled, heading over the bridge toward Charlestown in a blue Jeep Cherokee. Police broadcast a description of the suspect, who was described as a white male with no facial hair, wearing sunglasses, a red hooded sweatshirt with a yellow hood, blue pants and white sneakers.  A short time …

Bank Robbery at Sovereign on Canal

The suspect escaped in a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said.

Boston Police have confirmed reports of a bank robbery at the Sovereign Bank on 125 Canal St.  Police say there is no evidence the suspect was armed or that anyone was injured. The robbery occurred around 11:30 Monday morning. The suspect was described as a white male wearing sunglasses, a red sweater and blue pants. A police spokeswoman said he fled in a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee.  The spokeswoman didn't know how much money was stolen.  The getaway car was reportedly spotted in Charlestown.
