Boston Trash Pick-up Schedule Updated

Residents in many city neighborhoods should expect collection by 6 a.m. Saturday.

City workers will continue trash collection around Boston during the citywide shelter-in-place order, with pickup in the neighborhoods of Beacon Hill, Bay Village, Chinatown, the Leather District, the South End and the North End expected to be completed by 8 p.m. Friday. The notice was distributed via the city’s official Twitter account, @NotifyBoston at around 4:30 p.m. Friday, while the city remained under a lockdown. The neighborhoods of Allston and Brighton, Dorchester, Mission Hill, East Boston, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, West Roxbury and Roslindale should have trash collected by 6 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, according to the Twitter alerts. Trash Schedule in Boston for Christmas, New Year's Eve and Day

Know when solid waste collection is happening during the holidays.

Trash collection around any holiday can be confusing, but when you've got several holidays strung together—and lots of added trash from those gift boxes and holiday parites—it's even harder to track. Here is the trash collection schedule for Beacon Hill: Christmas Week 2012 (Tuesday, Dec. 25, at 7 a.m. to Saturday, Dec. 29, at 5 p.m.) For Bay Village, Beacon Hill, Charlestown, Chinatown, Leather District, the North End, and parts of Back Bay with a Monday/Thursday collection trash will run on its regular schedule.  New Years Day 2012 On Monday, Dec. 31, trash will be on its regular schedule for all Boston neighborhoods.  Tuesday Jan. 1:
