Born and raised in Burlington, Vermont, I discovered travel during a year abroad in Canterbury, England during undergrad. Instantly addicted, I joined the Peace Corps after graduation and moved to Estonia, where I taught English at a village high school. From there, I spent the next decade working in Czech Republic, Italy, Slovenia and Turkey. In Istanbul, I began writing for <i>Time Out</i> magazine, an experience that led to acceptance into Emerson College's master's program in publishing and writing.
