Police Seek ID For Beacon Hill Sex Assault Suspect

Boston Police are asking public to pay special attention to the suspect's hat.

Boston Police have renewed their efforts with the public to identify a male they believe is connected to one of three sexual assaults on Beacon Hill in recent weeks.

On Twitter,police released the still photo Friday of an individual they called a "suspect" in the assaults. They described the man as in his 20s, 5-feet, 8-inches tall, thin, fair-skinned and wearing a black or grey knit cap.

On BPDNews.com, police detectives "are asking community members to pay special attention to the hat that the suspect is wearing and anyone with information please contact the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit at (617) 343-4400."

The first incident, which is the one allegedly involving this suspect, occurred around 2:15 p.m. on May 30, in the area of Anderson Street. While reaching for her keys in front of her residence, the victim was approached from behind by the suspect and groped. The victim yelled for help, causing the suspect to fle on Anderson Street turning left on Phillips Street.

Police said they are "are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding these incidents."

The second incident occurred the next day around 11:28 p.m., in the area of Phillips Street. The victim was on the steps entering her residence, when the suspect approached her from behind and knocked her to the ground. The victim was sexually assaulted, and reported the assault lasted seconds before the suspect fled to Phillips Street, according to BPDnews.com.

The suspect in this assault was described as a white male, late 20s to early 30s, about 5' 6", medium build, with wavy or shaggy hair over his ears, light complexion, and wearing a blue hoodie and dark pants.

The third incident also occurred that same day around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Garden Street approaching Phillips Street. The victim observed the suspect on the sidewalk, and after passing him on the street, the suspect approached her from behind. The victim turned and confronted the suspect, who groped her, escaping on to Phillips Street.

This suspect suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25 years old, 5’ 9", medium to thin build, approximately 165 pounds, wearing a black knit cap, dark colored t-shirt, baseball shorts, and dark chin length hair.

Boston Police released these tips for women walking alone in the area.
